Do it with passion - or not at all!
Dogs and horses are our life. From childhood, our passion has been unwavering.
Kilyan is a trained master craftsman who, after an accident at work, turned his hobby into a career. Since then, he has been a full-time musher (dog sled driver), a multiple European sled dog champion, and offers interested parties the opportunity to experience these wonderful animals live in action during a workshop or on a guided tour.
Anna has been riding since she was three years old. After completing her professional training as a horse manager at the Bavarian State Stud Schwaiganger, her path led her to Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, and France), where she became fascinated by European working riding styles. Today, she is very successful in working equitation and
trains horses and riders in this exciting and varied discipline.
Our team
We – Kilyan and Anna – live here on Rocky Wolf Ranch, a dog sledding and outdoor adventure ranch located just a few minutes south of Rocky Mountain House in Alberta, Canada. Moving here in early 2025 was the best decision we ever made.
We’re united by our passion for animals, the joy of working together, and the countless wonderful experiences we share with the people we meet.
By combining our strengths and supporting each other’s weaknesses, we’ve become an unbeatable team here in the heart of Alberta’s wilderness.
We work with Canadian Eskimo Dogs and Alaskan Malamutes and offer authentic dog sledding experiences, workshops, outdoor adventures, and cozy cabin or apartment stays. Our programs are designed for families, couples, tourists, outdoor enthusiasts, and school or youth groups looking to discover Alberta in a unique and memorable way.
Kilyan
Musher / Managing Director
Kilyan is a trained master craftsman and has been a full-time musher (sled dog handler) for over 25 years. As a multiple European champion, race marshal for the FISTC, and race director cart, he has had the opportunity to demonstrate his expertise in the field of sled dogs on many occasions.
He is the head when it comes to the sled dogs, the implementation of the workshops, tours and events at the Rocky Wolf Ranch.
Kilyan is also widely known as a breeder of Alaskan Malamutes and Canadian Eskimo Dogs and stands for seriousness, transparency and many years of experience in dog breeding.
He helps Anna with the horses and the related events.
The woods on the ranch are his favorite place and winter is his favorite season.
Anna
Professional Rider / Horse Trainer / Business Manager
Esther Anna -Maria is a state-certified professional rider with nearly 30 years of professional experience. After completing her classical riding training, she quickly discovered her passion for the European working riding styles of the Buteri in Italy, the Campinos in Portugal, the Vaqeros in Spain, and the Gardians in southern France. With the emergence of Working Equitation in Germany in 2008, she has been an integral part of the competition and training scene in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy from the very beginning.
She is the head when it comes to the horses, the boarders, courses and the extreme trail on the ranch.
Anna helps Kilyan with the dogs and the associated events and has successfully participated in one or two dog sled races herself.
The river on the ranch's property line is her favorite place and summer is her favorite season.
